Digital Imaging & Photography

Digital Imaging & Photography

The following screenshots reveal the process of making my digital image through Adobe Photoshop.

The first image reveals a photograph I have taken from my Falmer Village collection. I have decided to use a landscape photograph to create a manipulated photograph.
In order to create a manipulated photograph, i decided to change the sky by replacing it with an abstract sky, this will give the photograph a kaleidoscopic effect. Moreover, I used quick selection to draw around the sky and clicked on paste into so the photograph is only cemented into the section highlighted.

Both of these screenshots reveal the abstract sky being pasted into the sky. I had to get the framing right whilst adjusting the photograph so that it looks realistic and convincing.
Furthermore, I decided to create a layer and change the colour of the background as the original colours inefficient. This effect makes the photograph look authentic and original.

The following screenshots reveal a superman image being inserted into the photograph. The first screenshot reveals the background being removed so that the image is transparent. The second screenshot reveals the image being adjusted into the photograph so the digital imaging looks manipulated.

Here is the final photograph of the digital imaging which has been manipulated into a country/farm photograph. I have inserted a number of objects into this photograph to create an interesting effect and help to establish the manipulation. Digital imaging is common theme in this digital age as photography has become more digital than physical. This was an interesting task as I got to see how professional photographers use photoshop to manipulate people, especially in photoshoots of models and fitness campaigns. Our generation is filled with fabricated images to make ourselves look better and convince others to join in, but realistically it is a false concept created by a fake identity. This could be a interesting final project as it explores the use of technology in photography and how it is effecting us without us realising that we are surrounded by false concepts.
